You are warmly invited to the exhibition at INKU documenting the artistic project of Magdalena Seredziuk-Grąbczewska and Monika Libera. Their collaboration combines regional ceramics with photography of the local landscape, focusing on the Szczecin coastline and the waters of the Szczecin Lagoon.
The project entails a series of exhibitions dedicated to the local landscape, which serves as a backdrop for ceramic works inspired by its beauty and power.
“Into.the.landscape” celebrates nature and marvels at the qualities of the natural, unspoiled landscape, which is a recurring motif in our art – both in ceramics and photography. The common feature of both disciplines is the discovery of the beauty of nature close to us and presenting it as a value in itself. Through our works, we rediscover the magic and value of the natural heritage of the region, and its significance for each of us as individuals.
For us, the Lagoon is alive, it is a living entity, a land of water, mists, clouds, wind, fish, and birds. The need to convey its extraordinariness, tranquility, and dignity through art accompanies us at every stage of creation. The waters of the Lagoon, the local landscape, the coastline become artistic protagonists – inspirations and at the same time backgrounds for art.
“Into.the.landscape” is the result of a creative understanding of nature and collaboration between Magdalena Seredziuk-Grąbczewska, a ceramic artist, and Monika Libera, a photographer.
Monika photographs Magdalena’s works in their natural environment, namely the landscape of the Szczecin Lagoon. She presents them to the audience as the artist sees them through the eyes of imagination during the process of their creation.
The project involves presenting sculptural forms and objects created by Magdalena against the backdrop of their portraits taken by Monika. Through this combination, we aim to show that each of these works has a soul, it is more than just an object. The idea is to invite our local landscape to the places where we spend our daily lives through the art we create.
“We want those contemplating our art to regain peace and a sense of security. We strive for our audience to rediscover the beauty of the world around us and to derive joy and happiness from the small things. It is important for us that our art, by growing from the local land, from the local landscape, becomes its natural extension and marks its presence and value in the places where it will be exhibited.”
