Local meeting promoting the creative and cultural sector.

On April 21, 2023, a local dissemination meeting took place at the Inkubator Sektorów Kreatywnych in Szczecin. The meeting gathered over 50 stakeholders, including representatives from three Szczecin universities, representatives from the Marshal’s Office, students, local artists and producers, non-governmental organizations, and a guest from the Berlin House of Statistics. The aim of the meeting was to discuss the condition of the Creative and Cultural Industries (CCI) in the region and ways to increase their potential.

The evening session began with an open discussion about the state of the culture and art sector in Szczecin. Participants shared their experiences, challenges, and opportunities in this sector. They identified the need to increase cooperation among stakeholders to support the growth of the CCI sector. They recommended creating networks and partnerships to strengthen cooperation and share knowledge.

Access to financing emerged as a significant challenge facing stakeholders in the PKT sector in the region. Participants called for the development of new financing models and the utilization of existing resources to support sector growth. They identified the need for training and skills development programs to enhance the potential of PKT stakeholders. They called for the development of programs that respond to the specific needs of various sub-sectors of the culture and creative industries, including design, music, and film.

Participants emphasized the need for infrastructure development that supports the growth of the CCI sector. They recommended establishing creative hubs, incubators, and co-working spaces to provide a conducive environment for CCI industry stakeholders. Participants recommended the development of marketing and promotional strategies that showcase the potential of the region’s PKT. They emphasized the need to increase the visibility of local artists and producers, as well as to create platforms connecting them with potential clients and investors.

After the discussion, participants enjoyed dinner outdoors in the garden of the Inkubator Sektorów Kreatywnych. The meeting provided a platform for stakeholders to exchange ideas and develop strategies supporting the growth of the CCI sector in Szczecin. The key points identified during the discussion will inform future initiatives aimed at supporting sector growth.
